Terms of service

1. The service

Merme provides AI products for businesses: today the meeting assistant, which joins online meetings, transcribes them and produces notes, and further products as they launch. Features may change; we announce material changes in the app.

2. Accounts and workspaces

You sign in with a Google or Microsoft account. If you sign in with a company email address, you join your company's workspace for that email domain: the first person from the domain to sign in creates it and becomes its Admin and billing owner, and colleagues who sign in later with an address on the same domain join it automatically as Viewers. If you sign in with a personal address (for example, gmail.com), you get a personal workspace of your own. An Admin can also invite anyone to a workspace by email address.

Admins invite members and end their membership, assign roles and manage the workspace's settings; they also have every Host permission and can read, share and export every note in the workspace. Hosts can have Merme join their meetings, which uses the workspace's hours, and co-own the notes of those meetings, which they can share and export. Viewers read notes but cannot have Merme join meetings. Every member, whatever their role, can read the notes of meetings they were invited to and notes shared with them, and can update the action items assigned to them. The billing owner (the person who created the workspace, or an Admin they hand the role to) buys hours and has the final say on billing matters. You are responsible for what happens under your account.

3. Prepaid hours

Meeting capture is paid for with prepaid hours. Hours are counted to the second for the time the Merme bot spends on the call, from when it starts joining until it leaves, including time spent waiting to be let in (at most 10 minutes if no one admits it). A bot whose joining fails from the start, for example because of a broken link, or that fails on our side, uses no hours. A meeting already in progress is not cut off when the hours run out; the extra time is deducted from the next hours added. Every new workspace receives 5 free hours. Packages are bought once and are not subscriptions. Hours belong to the workspace and do not expire, but any hours left are lost if the workspace is deleted.

Packages are listed on the product page. Until online payment on Bank of Georgia's secure payment page opens, buy hours by writing to support@merme.ai: we confirm the price in lari, including VAT where applicable, arrange payment, and add the hours to your workspace once payment is received. Refunds for unused hours are handled case by case. Write to support@merme.ai.

4. Acceptable use

You may only have Merme join meetings you are entitled to record. By default Merme joins the online meetings on each Host's and Admin's connected calendar automatically. You can switch joining off for a single meeting, or choose in Settings that Merme joins only the meetings you allow; this stops Merme joining on your behalf, but another Host or Admin in the same meeting can still bring it. You are responsible for informing participants and for complying with the recording and data-protection laws that apply to you.

Do not use Merme:

• to record people without informing them, or without their consent where the law requires it;
• to process data you have no right to, or to deliberately process special categories of personal data (such as health data), which Merme is not designed for;
• to interfere with the service or its vendors.

5. Your content

Your meetings and notes are yours. We process them only to provide the service, as described in the privacy policy, and never use them to train AI models. Anyone who can view a note can save it as a PDF, and a note's owners and the workspace's Admins can also download it as Markdown. A single note can't yet be deleted in the app: one of its owners or a workspace Admin can have it deleted by writing to support@merme.ai, and deleting a workspace deletes all of its notes.

6. Availability

We aim for Merme to be reliable, but the service is provided as is: a bot may fail to join, a vendor may be down, a transcript may contain errors. Always keep your own records for anything critical. We do not guarantee uninterrupted availability.

7. Limitation of liability

To the extent the law allows, Merme's total liability for any claim relating to the service is limited to the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim. We are not liable for indirect or consequential loss, or for decisions made on the basis of AI-generated notes.

8. Termination

You can stop using Merme and delete your account at any time in Settings; if you are the billing owner of a workspace that has other members, first hand billing ownership to another Admin. When a workspace is deleted, its unused hours are forfeited. We may suspend or terminate accounts that breach these terms, with notice where reasonable. On termination we delete your data as described in the privacy policy.

9. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms; the date at the top shows the current version. Material changes are announced in the app or by email at least 14 days before they take effect.

10. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of Georgia. Disputes are resolved by the courts of Tbilisi, unless mandatory consumer law gives you another forum.
